The Belleview Middle School program is run
this year by Mr. Smallridge, Assistant Principal. He obtained the
materials for the program through a Project Green Machine grant.
His program consists of selected students going through the campus monitoring
energy use. When classrooms are found not wasting energy,
then a note (shown at left) is taped on the door. The program focuses
on positive reinforcement. Recycling office paper is also included.
Instructional and non-instructional staff (including custodial and maintenance
personnel) participate on the school's Energy Smart Team.
Mr. Smallridge and two SAVE Team students walk through the 6th grade
wing to observe energy use.
Each classroom and office have a special recycle bin.
Custodial and maintenance personnel also make recommendations on how
to eliminate energy waste.
