Trail
The Project Green Machine
Learning Trail is a joint project, between the school system and the City
of Ocala, designed to provide educational opportunities for students, teachers,
and the community on the subjects of energy and the environment.
The goal is to increase awareness of environmental resource conservation,
as well as, increase student performance in school on these subjects.

Marion County Public Schools
together with the City of Ocala, Discovery Science and Outdoor Center,
and the Public Education Foundation of Marion County agree to work together
to find ways to engage students, teachers and the community in becoming
better stewards of our natural resources. Project Green Machine is
a curriculum-based program that involves students, teachers, and other
school district staff together with community partners to help learn and
practice ways to reduce waste of environmental resources in schools and
in the community. |

The Learning Trail is composed of four stations positioned in the Science
Center's outdoor area with text panels relating to energy sources.
Enlarged versions of these pictures can be printed by following these
steps: 1) Click on the picture you want to print out. You may have
to wait a few minutes for the picture to show on your screen as it is a
very large file size. 2) Go to "page set-up" in your browser and
set for "legal" size paper. Set the margins for 0.4 inches, except
the bottom, which should be set for 0.6 inches. Then click "apply."
3) Make sure you have legal size paper in your printer and then click on
"print." |
